The action thriller film is helmed by Kalees that serves as a remake of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri. The film stars Varun Dhawan in the titular role, alongside Keerthy Suresh (in her Bollywood debut), Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna and Jackie Shroff. It is produced under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, Vipin Agnihotri Films and A for Apple Productions.
