Vidya Balan has fallen victim to the growing danger of deepfake videos. Nevertheless, she is acting quickly to address the problem. She has stated that she was not involved in the production or dissemination of the modified content, adding, “It does not reflect my views or work.”

In her Instagram post, Vidya Balan addressed the issue by alerting her followers and admirers to the phony video. In addition to her remark, she released the deepfake video to spread awareness.

“Several videos that seem to show me are currently doing the rounds on WhatsApp and social media. But I want to make it clear that the films are fake and artificial intelligence (AI) developed,” she wrote.

Vidya Balan Comments:
Balan added, “I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content”. She added hashtags #FakeAlert and #StayAware in her post.

Several Indian celebrities have previously fallen victim to deepfake videos, including Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Sachin Tendulkar.

Vidya Balan Recent Projects:
In her most recent role, Vidya costarred alongside Pratik Gandhi in the romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar. The film, which was directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, stars Sendhil Ramamurthy and Ileana D’Cruz. It explored the intricacies of contemporary relationships, focusing on a soon-to-be divorced couple who started having extramarital affairs. Unexpected events change their plans just as they are about to confess and part ways. Despite receiving favorable reviews, the film did not do well at the box office. Also, most recently, she appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, and Kartik Aaryan. The movie, which was released on Diwali in 2024, was a commercial success.
