Larry Ellison Donation: After Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Larry Ellison, the creator of Oracle, is currently the second-richest person in the world. He is worth $373 billion in total, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Ellison’s fortune has increased significantly in recent months as a result of the AI boom-driven huge gains in Oracle’s shares. However, few people know that in 2010, Larry Ellison committed to contribute 95% of his fortune as part of the Giving Pledge. He has since distanced himself from conventional NGOs, claiming that he would rather distribute income according to his own terms.

In September 2025, Ellison’s net worth reached $373 billion. He derives most of his wealth from his 41% stake in Oracle and a major investment in Tesla. He directs his charitable work through the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT), a for-profit company based at the University of Oxford. The institute tackles global issues such as healthcare, food insecurity, climate change, and AI research. By 2027, EIT plans to open a new $1.3 billion campus in Oxford.

Larry Ellison Past Donation:

Ellison has donated widely over the years. Before shutting down, the Ellison Medical Foundation received nearly $1 billion from him to support aging and disease prevention research. He also gave $200 million to the University of Southern California to establish a cancer research center.

Although he has made fewer direct charitable contributions than some of his peers, he has committed billions through the Ellison Institute and the Giving Pledge. Ellison says he will direct almost all of his fortune toward charitable causes, controlling when and how the money is used.
