Aaromaley Movie Box Office Collections: This week Shivatmika Rajashekhar’s latest romantic drama Aaromaley opened almost stealthily, and even quieter was its performance at the box office. Although the film is heartening, accompanied by a beautiful score, it started with little occupancy at its showing and gained mixed word-of-mouth reviews, attracting much speculation regarding possible outcomes of its theatrical run.
According to initial reports, Aaromaley grossed ₹0.50 crore on its opening day and nett collections across India were expected to be around ₹0.40 crore, thus leaving the gross worldwide figure at approximately the same number for possible debut gross receipts.
Though there was better traffic in Hyderabad and Vijayawada multiplexes, it received a poorer response in other places. A pre-release buzz that went almost unnoticed and a bare-bones promotion failed to convert to paying audiences on the first weekend of Aaromaley.
A tender romantic drama of love, loss, and emotional healing, Aaromaley is directed by debut filmmaker. Shivatmika, the daughter of Rajashekhar, is a strong performer in Dorasani and Nitham Oru Vaanam, and hence, delivers sincere performance with depth in emotion from her character.
But quite the other way, the film lacked speed and power in its promotional campaigns. Some viewers seemed impressed with its poetic visuals and melodious renditions; for the rest, however, it lacked that proverbial spark needed to draw the mainstream audience.
Aaromaley thus appears to be on its last legs monetarily, given its dismal opening of Rs 0.50 crore and the meager buzz for the weekend. The film would require substantial increases in revenue through good word-of-mouth to be able to survive in theaters well beyond the first week.

This seems an uphill battle for the film as it has to compete not only with bigger releases from Telugu cinema but also pan-Indian ones.
