Jatadhara 3 Days Box Office: Another missed opportunity for the makers to have a grand opening, the film Jatadhara-a mytho-action-drama- marks the Telugu debut of Sonakshi Sinha. Another downtrodden weekend collection turned down the expectations. Though the hype was better than average, took quite some time to generate and the movie was released in Telugu and Hindi, nothing drove audiences to the theaters. Mixed reviews, poor to negligible word-of-mouth combined with Jatadhara, almost dug a grave for the film in terms of box-office activity.
Judgment unkindly passed by the audiences toward Jatadhara, as it collected only ₹1.07 crore on the opening day, that is, Friday, of which ₹0.85 crore was from the Telugu version and ₹0.22 million from Hindi. With that kind of show, inexplicably, it failed to grow on Day 2 (Saturday) as well. The collection again stands at ₹1.07 crore. Perception among viewers for any of the presentations was lacking very much. The three-day preliminary numbers for the Day 3 indicate a small slump of ₹0.99 crore aggregating for a total net collection of ₹3.13 Crores for all three days.
Not very promising numbers for a film with a seen face and major production sets. Slow growth shows little audience retention, which, in turn, is fast becoming a terminology for film mostly not going well in all regions.
As per industry rumors, Jatadhara was made at production and promotions of around ₹35 crore to ₹40 crore. So if it aims at breaking even, its worldwide gross needs to be about ₹45 crore, a far-sighted figure as per the present trend. Miracle instant turnaround through solid overseas or digital performances might make recovery a tad easier, though still an uphill task.

With lean collections through the weekdays, Jatadhara may slip with every passing day. Dismal screenplay and unbearable execution priorities will not help, regardless of Sonakshi Sinha’s otherwise sincere performance and pretty visuals, in drawing much for the assignment.
Verdict: Jatadhara not really well far from the break-even target of 45 crores. Gross so far-3 Days 3.13 Crore Worldwide Break-even-45 Cr.
