Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated film They Call Him OG hit theatres worldwide on September 25. The release saw massive crowds, celebrations, and fan frenzy from the first show onwards. Fans gathered outside theatres early, danced near giant cut-outs, and shared videos across social media, creating a festival-like atmosphere.

Directed by Sujeeth, the action-packed crime drama features Pawan Kalyan in a larger-than-life role. Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi makes his Telugu debut as the antagonist, and his intense performance has grabbed attention. The movie is reported to have a budget of nearly ₹250 crore, making it one of Pawan Kalyan’s biggest projects.

Post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix, which means the film will be available on the platform after completing its theatrical run, adding to its pan-India appeal.

Day 1 Box Office Performance

According to trade reports, They Call Him OG collected approximately ₹22.55 crore by 4:30 pm on its opening day. Morning shows saw 71% occupancy, while afternoon shows recorded around 62%. Advance bookings and packed early shows reflected the craze of Pawan Kalyan among his fans.

However, despite the strong start, OG didn’t meet the opening-day record of Pawan’s previous film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM), which had earned about ₹47.5 crore including premiere shows. Even with fan enthusiasm and full theatres, OG’s initial numbers fell short of expectations compared to HHVM’s first-day collection.

They Call Him OG has begun its theatrical journey with excitement and energy. While it has not surpassed HHVM’s first-day earnings, the film has created a grand celebration among fans and marked Emraan Hashmi’s impressive entry into Telugu cinema. With its high budget, star cast, and Netflix OTT release, the movie is likely to attract more audiences in the coming days.
