Dies Irae Box Office Collection: The much awaited horror thriller Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has at long last made its debut in theaters all throughout today. Produced jointly by Y Not Studios and Night Shift Studios, the movie premiered last evening with paid attendance and was met with positive early responses. Rahul Sadasivan – who earlier gave the lauded psychological horror smash Bramayugam – wrote the screenplay himself.
The title of the film is Dies Irae – which translates to “The Day of Wrath” in Latin; and promises a captivating thriller of mystery, horror, and psychological tension. Trade reports indicate early anticipation surrounding the film with advanced sales from Kerala alone already exceeding ₹1 crore.
Early responses from viewers to Dies Irae praise the story as tension-filled, the graphics as superb, and music as suspenseful. Reportedly a horror thriller of tension, the film is said to seamlessly combine excitement and emotional arcs. Viewers noted upon viewing the teaser and the trailer, that it appeared to be a better-produced film with viewers now proclaiming it one of the most beautifully shot Malayalam films of the year.
The film has an ‘A’ rating, therefore emphasizing its serious tone and dark themes. Prior to publication, online interest in Cristo Xavier’s music – particularly the title song “The Day of Wrath”; has been great.
Through a vast distribution network, Dies Irae has been made available. While Think Studios is overseeing distribution across India apart, E4 Experiments is managing the Kerala launch. – Karnataka, under the direction of VK Films. Prime Media USA is releasing the movie in the U.S. internationally; Home Screen Entertainment manages the rest of Indian and GCC territories; Berkshire Dream House and Isanagi Films span other foreign territories.
