Sikandar Day 2 Collection: Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release ‘Sikandar’ has made a great start at the box office. The impatience of the fans finally ended, and the opening of the film proved that Salman’s craze is still intact. After earning 26 crores on the first day, the film did a business of 29 crores on the second day as well, taking the total collection to 55 crores.
With every Salman Khan film, the expectations of the fans increase, and the same happened with ‘Sikandar.’ The film’s first-day earnings made it one of the biggest opening films of Bollywood. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, this action thriller stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role along with Salman. The film has tremendous action sequences and high-octane drama, which manages to keep the audience glued to their seats.
The film’s earnings were strong on the second day too. Taking advantage of the holiday, ‘Sikander’ earned 29 crores at the domestic box office. Accordingly, the total crossed the mark of 55 crores in two days. At the same time, the film has already moved ahead with a great opening collection of 54 crores at the worldwide box office.
However, looking at the grandeur of the film and the star cast, it is being compared to Salman’s previous blockbusters. While on one hand, fans are liking Salman’s onscreen presence, on the other hand, mixed reactions are being seen among critics regarding the story and direction of the film. Some critics believe that A.R. Murugadoss’ direction could not connect the film strongly, due to which its script seems a bit weak.
The film has strong action and stylish sequences, but there is nothing new in the story. There are some scenes in the film that keep the audience engaged, but the promise of samurai-style action seems incomplete. Salman Khan’s character is effective, but questions are being raised about his acting at some places.
Apart from Salman Khan, the film includes experienced actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sunil Shetty, Sathyaraj, and Prateek Babbar. Rashmika’s performance is being appreciated, but her character could have been given more depth in the film. At the same time, Sunil Shetty and Prateek Babbar looked strong in their respective roles.
