1. Sholay (1975)

A classic of Indian Cinema. Ramesh sippy directed this film, Dharmendra also played the lead in the film. Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan acted as heroines in the film. Amitabh played the role of Jai, one of the two leads hired by a revenge-filled inspector Baldev Thakur Singh to kill the notorious dacoit Gabbar Singh. The script was written by the famous Salim-Javed duo.

2. Deewaar (1975)
   Another Salim-Javed script which shows the angry young man in Amitabh, the film is directed by Yash Chopra. Fate separates two brothers Vijay and Ravi.Vijay becomes a criminal while Ravi becomes an honest police officer. Again fate interferes when Ravi is sent to nab Vijay. Bachchan’s performance in this film is still talked around until today.
3. Zanjeer (1973)
   This film has another revenge drama plot by Salim-Javed. In this movie, Amitabh plays Vijay, an inspector who is suspended from duty, sets out to find his parents’ murderers with the help of a street-wise girl and enemy turned friend. Zanjeer has all mass commercial elements in the plot.  
   
4. Don (1978)
5. Amitabh acted in a dual role in this action/thriller. A ruthless crime lord Don and his Look alike Vijay who impersonates him. This film is stylish and suspenseful and the best entertainer in his career. 
6. Agneepath (1990)
7. Gangster Vijay Deenath, played by Amitabh, wants to kill Kancha, a man who callously killed his father years ago. He ruthlessly attempts for his revenge to go to any extent to get that.
