Actress Anushka Manimohan: A 41-year-old actress has been arrested by police on suspicion of operating a sex racket by employing young women to secure parts in TV shows and movies. Anushka Manimohan Das is the name of the woman who was taken into custody from Thane, Maharashtra. According to the police, Anushka was called by two officers who were pretending to be clients. The woman invited them to a location so they could meet her and exchange money. There, she was apprehended by the police. Two young women who wished to pursue careers in acting have also been saved as a result of that information.

Police allege that the accused pushed aspiring actresses into prostitution under the guise of offering acting opportunities. Acting on a tip-off from a confidential source, officers set a trap. They arranged a meeting with the actress at a mall on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad highway. Disguised as customers, undercover cops approached her. Anushka was caught red-handed while exchanging money.

Police officer Madan Ballal confirmed that two other heroines were rescued during the operation. Both reportedly work in Bengali serials and films, but their identities remain undisclosed. Authorities registered a case under Section 143(3) of the Indian Penal Code, along with charges of human trafficking. The investigation is now focused on uncovering the scale of the racket and identifying others who may be involved in the network.
