A new twist to Mrunal Thakur’s controversy has been ignited with an old video from her television days when she had referred to Bipasha Basu as “manly with muscles” and boasted that “I am far better than Bipasha” in typical Mrunal fashion. Mrunal was pretty much silent in the initial outcry. Fans and media even reported that she came up with a new bold post on Instagram wearing an all-black outfit and captioned it with a “Stop staring!”, subtly marking her comeback in the midst of rising criticism.
Meanwhile, Bipasha Basu took the high road on the subject. She quoted in her Instagram story: “Strong women lift each other up.” Added to it was this: “Get those muscles beautiful ladies, we should be strong. Muscles help you attain good physical and mental health forever! Bust the age-old thought process that women should not look strong or be physically strong.” Although never naming Mrunal, her message was widely interpreted as a response to the resurfaced clip.
