Not just for its story but for the chartbuster of a song “Why This Kolaveri Di.” Shruti played the role of Janani, a complicated girl caught in love, loss, and mental health issues. Her emotionally vibrant performance was very well appreciated, showcasing her capacity as an actor.
Shruti shared, “Acting opposite Dhanush, who is incredibly intense and effortless, really pushed me to bring my best. That film came when I needed to prove myself most.” She believed that 3 gave her the space to break away from glam-centric roles and finally be taken seriously as a performer.
