First Choice for Telusu Kada:
Across the world, women directors are fewer in number, and the Telugu film industry is no exception. Among the few, Neeraja Kona is now ready to make her mark as a filmmaker. Coming from a well-known film family, she is the sister of popular writer Kona Venkat. After years of experience in the industry, Neeraja is now set to debut as a director with her new film Telusu Kada.
Neeraja started her career as a costume designer, working on dozens of successful movies. Her long journey in cinema helped her gain knowledge of every aspect of filmmaking. Along with her design skills, she has always had a passion for writing stories since childhood. Over time, this creative side inspired her to step into direction.
Speaking about her journey, Neeraja said that she used to write short stories and often share her ideas with close friends like actors Nani and Nithiin. They were the ones who encouraged her to take up direction seriously. When she finally wrote the story for Telusu Kada, she first narrated it to Nithiin. He felt that the story would perfectly suit actor Siddu Jonnalagadda, and suggested she approach him.
Siddu loved the story and agreed to be part of the project. The film also stars Raashi Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. The movie is set to release on October 17 as a Diwali special.
Neeraja expressed gratitude to producer Vishwa Prasad, who gave her complete creative freedom. She also said that without Siddu’s involvement, Telusu Kada might not have been made.
