Bengaluru police briefly detained German TikTokers Noel Robinson and Younes Zarou for filming reels in public without prior permission. The influencers attracted large crowds at different locations in the city, which raised public safety concerns.
Noel Robinson, known for his viral street dance videos, was stopped by police while shooting in traditional Indian attire. The filming took place in a public area and drew a large group of onlookers.
Police detained Robinson for nearly 15 minutes and fined him for filming without authorisation. A video he later shared on Instagram shows him escorted into a police vehicle, where he appears to accidentally bump his head.
Later, Robinson assured his followers that he was safe. “This was my first time being taken to the police station,” he posted. “I was scared they would send me to prison, but luckily, everything was fine. I’m safe, and I love India.”
Despite the scare, the 24-year-old maintained his admiration for the country. “This could have happened in any country. One little experience like that won’t take away my love for India,” he added.
In a separate incident, influencer Younes Zarou was detained by Cubbon Park police on Church Street. Zarou had announced his visit online, leading to a large crowd gathering on July 30.
Police intervened, citing public safety risks. They also advised Zarou not to promote unscheduled gatherings that could disrupt public order.
After his release, Zarou wrote, “I survived, I am fine. Bengaluru is not for beginners. Thanks to the police chief without him I think I would be somewhere else now.”

Such incidents are not new to Bengaluru. On February 9, Cubbon Park police stopped British musician Ed Sheeran from performing on Church Street without prior permission.
Authorities continue to urge public figures to seek permission before public events to ensure safety and order.
