Humaira Asghar: Investigators now believe Pakistani actor Humaira Asghar Ali died in October 2024, almost nine months ago, after they discovered her decomposed body in her Karachi apartment on Tuesday. Authorities found her body after her landlord filed a complaint about unpaid rent. When police entered the apartment, they found her remains in an advanced stage of decomposition.

Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, who conducted the post-mortem, confirmed the extent of decomposition and supported the investigators’ assumption that she had been dead for several months. Officials have used multiple details to piece together the timeline of her death.

Last Call & Electricity Cut Off:

“The Call Detail Record (CDR) shows that she made her last call in October 2024,” Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza told Arab News. Neighbours also reported that they last saw her around September or October.

Officials confirmed that the flat had no backup power supply and that authorities disconnected her electricity in October 2024 due to nonpayment. One official added that they found no candles in the apartment, suggesting she likely died sometime between paying her last utility bills and the power being cut. Investigators estimate that Humaira Asghar Ali’s body is around nine months old.

Karachi Neighbors’ Response:

Neighbours didn’t detect any odor because the only other flat on Humaira Asghar’s floor remained vacant. By the time some residents returned in February, the odor had already faded. They found the home’s water pipes rusty and dry, and discovered one of her balcony doors open.

Lahore-born Humaira Asghar Ali began her entertainment career in 2015. She played supporting roles in several television shows, including Chal Dil Mere, Ehsaan Faramosh, Just Married, and Guru. In films, she starred in Jalaibee (2015) and Love Vaccine (2021). Her appearance on the reality show Tamasha Ghar, aired on ARY Digital in 2022, further boosted her popularity. In 2023, she received the National Woman Leadership Award for Best Emerging Talent & Rising Star.
