Jigris Teaser: The official teaser of Jigris is out, and the first thought that hits you is, “Wait, is this Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi 2.0?” Seriously, have all the new-age directors taken an oath to recycle the same “four friends on a road trip” formula? Once Tarun Bhaskar made it cool, it seems every other filmmaker decided, “Why break our heads over a fresh concept when we can just copy the vibe and call it new?”

Jigris, directed by Harish Reddy Uppula under Mount Meru Pictures, features Krishna Burugula, Dheeraj Athreya, Mani Vaka, and Ram Nithin. The story? Four friends, an unexpected road trip, and this time, the twist is… they’re in a rusty Maruti 800. Yes, that’s the “fresh” element.

Most of the people who are commenting on this film on Reddit and YouTube are just saying, The teaser looks fun, the visuals are good, and the actors seem promising. But where’s the innovation? How many more times are we going to watch “boys banter, drink chai, chase dreams, crack jokes, and find life lessons” on screen? At this rate, we’ll soon have an official Tollywood sub-genre called “Tarun Bhaskar School of Filmmaking.”

What’s worse is that once a trend clicks, everyone hops on the bandwagon. First, it was romantic comedies with feel-good songs, then it was raw gangster dramas, and now it’s these “road trip with friends” films. Sure, audiences love the comfort of familiarity, but wouldn’t it be nice to get shocked by something truly unpredictable? Jigris might still turn out to be an entertaining ride, but people just say, if you’ve seen Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and other Tarun Bhaskar films, you might already know 70% of what’s coming.
