Kaithi ‘2’: Just a couple of months back Lokesh Kanagaraj is the most sought after director in the whole country, his last outing “Coolie” changed things for him, this Rajinikanth starrer did not meet the expectations at the box office, and now there is a buzz going on in Tamil media circles that his next project might be shelved, let’s check out those details…

Lokesh was supposed to do KAITHI ‘2’

Kaithi starring Karthi released in 2019 became a sensational hit in Tamil and Telugu, this film put Lokesh Kanagaraj on the map of Indian cinema’s best upcoming directors, in that film he left an open ending hoping to continue the story in the second part.

A call from Vijay Thalapathy

After Kaithi became such a big hit Lokesh got an opportunity he couldn’t refuse, Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay called Lokesh to make a film for him, that film became “MASTER”, this film also did wonders at the box office and Lokesh became new sensation in Tamil film circuit.

Dream come true moment for him

After Master became such a big hit, his idol Kamal Hassan approved to make an action thriller film “VIKRAM” with him, Lokesh used this opportunity to create a universe of his own “LCU”(Lokesh Cinematic Universe), he merged Karthi’s dilli character from Kaithi and hoped to make a universe where all these characters can come together in one in the end like Avengers Endgame. 

A callback From Vijay

After Vikram collected 400 crores at the Indian box office Lokesh once again chose Vijay to make ‘LEO’ and he included this film in his LCU, this film too became a sensational hit at the box office, collecting over 600 crores at the box office. 

Another legend said wait, come here

After these back to back successes Superstar Rajinikanth chose Lokesh for his next film and that became ‘COOLIE’, this film put a break on Lokesh, the film was supposed to be Tamil cinema’s first 1000crore film, but that did not happen and disappointed fans across the country. 

Creative differences

Finally Lokesh is decided enough is enough he publicly announced that Kaithi ‘2’ would be his next film, he put that film on hold for a long time, and now he wants Kaithi ‘2’ to be his next film.

But, there comes a twist in the fate, Karthi was not satisfied with Lokesh and said no to him for the film, media circles speculating the reason might be creative differences, well if that is the reason, fans are hoping that the actor and director sort those out soon and make the film.
