Kalki 2898AD Sequel: will Anushka Shetty be a part of the project?

Kalki 2898AD: Ever since Vijayanthi movies announced that Deepika Padukone will not be returning to play Sum-80 in the sequel of Kalki, fans started to speculate who would be the right replacement for the character. According to the latest trend online fans want Anushka Shetty to reprise the role of Sum-80 in the sequel.

What are the other choices?

After the exit of Deepika from the film, many names of the actress started to circulate online who can fit that role perfectly. Starting from Kalyani Priyadarshini, fans thought that she would be a perfect fit owing to her recent success of Lokah, then the name of Shraddha Kapoor also came up in some posts.

Alia Bhatt, Mrunal Thakur, Kriti Sanon and many more actresses across the country are very much capable to do the role.

Why would Anushka be apt for the role?

Anushka Shetty is a great performer, throughout her career she acted in glamorous roles and author backed roles, her versatility as an actor is a major plus point, she can be moulded into any role. This alone can be a trump card for the filmmakers.

If Nag Ashwin chooses her for the role, there are many plus points, starting from her chemistry with the lead star Prabhas is too good, we witnessed that in Billa, Mirchi and the mighty Baahubali, then with her ability to act in any role, recreating what Deepika did in the first part would be a cake walk. And finally with her screen presence audiences may completely forget that the actor is different from the first part.

Why did Deepika say no to the sequel?

Ever since Deepika’s exit from the Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “SPIRIT” due to undisclosed reasons, there has been a major debate online about the reasons for this walk out. Some say that her demands regarding the working hours and language restrictions has pushed the makers to take this call.

But the main reason is not revealed, many bollywood celebrities sided with Deepika for her choice, now with this exit from Kalki’s sequel there arose another question: why is she walking out from amazing creative work?

Kalki 2898AD is a dystopian futuristic sci-fi film, in Indian cinema this was a first of its kind, many actors would bend their knee to be a part of this film. For this film, it demands 100% effort from everyone involved, whether it an actor or a light man, effort should be maximum.

Whatever the reason might be, Deepika choosing to not be a part of this film can hamper her career choices. It is a sad thing because Deepika is an amazing talent and the creative work needs amazing talent to present the art form.

Well we should hope that Deepika made the right decision and her fans are hoping that she will do the work which makes her happy.
