Kantara Chapter 1: Kannada cinema’s most anticipated film of this year is undoubtedly Kanatara Chapter 1. This mega project is headlined by Rishabh Shetty, he played the lead, wrote and directed the film. Now, according to the latest reports he let go of the remuneration for the film, lets see why?

Kantara mounted as a Pan-India biggie

Kantara Chapter 1 is being mounted as a Pan India film, this was not the case when the initial film Kantara was released in 2022. It was a small Kannada film made on a 15 crore budget, but after it blew up through the entire country, Hombale films and Rishabh Shetty decided to make another installment from the film.

With this sky high task Kantara has put on them, they decided to go all in for its prequel, they mounted this film with a budget of 125crores, this is huge for a Kannada film.

Rishabh decision to take profits

With this huge money riding on the film, Rishabh, the creator of Kantara decided to let go of the remuneration for the film. The fact that he will be playing the lead, and directing the film did not make any difference to him. Instead of remuneration he decided to take a share from the profits the film will earn at the box office.

Not only skipping the remuneration Rishabh also invested his own money into the film, this shows that he put his heart and blood into making this extravaganza action thriller.

What to expect from the film

The whole India got a chill when people saw Kantara on the big screen. The subject matter it dealt with has struck a chord with the audience across the country. With a divine touch and an incredible shout in the film from Rishabh got everyone on the edge of their seats.

Now, with its prequel Rishabh is trying to explore the backstory behind the legend of Kantara, the film’s trailer released a few days back showed the story of how Kantara came to be. Some opined that the magic of the shout was missing from this film. But, we have to wait for a few more days to check out whether Rishabh took a different approach for this film or he deliberately hid some spine chilling elements from the trailer.
