Madharaasi OTT Release: When and Where to Watch Sivakarthikeyan Recent Film

Madharaasi OTT Release: Sivakarthikeyan’s action drama was released in theatres today. Madharaasi, the highly hyped film directed by A.R. Murugadoss, opened up on the screens on 5 September 2019, with heroine Rukmini Vasanth and menacing Vidyut Jamwal as the villain. Madharaasi has been doing well at the box office in Tamil Nadu. While its Telugu dub has not clicked well with the audience. Overall, the film was tagged with the word “average”.

OTT Rights and Streaming Date

Mixed reviews notwithstanding, Madharaasi had great OTT rights. The digital OTT rights were bought by Amazon Prime Video for a whopping sum of ₹60 crores, as the latest updates say. The release will go live from October 3rd, 2025. This is just four weeks after being released in theatres, which is increasingly becoming a norm for big-budget films. Expect it to have multiple linguistics, including Tamil and Telugu dubbing.

Competition with Little Hearts in Telugu

Three movies opened to compete at the box office on the 5th of September in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Anushka’s Ghaati, the youthful rom-com Little Hearts, and Sivakarthikeyan’s native Madharaasi. Little Hearts, however, has been hailed as the surprise blockbuster among these three movies with over ₹30 crores already in its kitty. Family audiences loved it for its light-hearted humor and novel storytelling compared to such heavy action dramas like Madharaasi and Ghaati.

The Plot of Madarasi

The central plot of Madarasi holds that there are North Indian syndicates who are trying to bring in gun culture into Tamil Nadu. A sincere officer who must be reported to hasn’t enough powers to control the situation, so he contacts Raghu (Sivakarthikeyan). Who is a heartbroken young man about to attempt suicide. Then, he gives him a life-altering mission to stop the villain. While Murugadoss has delivered in the action portions and performances. A few viewers have opined that he does not have his complete trademark punch in the screenplay.

However, Madharaasi did not set the Telugu states on fire. But its OTT release on Prime Video from October 3 could just go a notch higher in connecting with more viewers.
