It is known that heroine Radhika Apte became a mother last year. She gave birth to a daughter in December 2024. Radhika, who recently participated in a live session called ‘Freedom to Feed’ hosted by Neha Dhupia, explained the difficulties and humiliation faced by women in the Indian entertainment industry for becoming mothers. Radhika Apte revealed how badly a producer behaved with her while she was pregnant.
Radhika Apte said that she had informed her directors and producers about her pregnancy. She said that one of the producers expressed impatience. Radhika Apte said, “Even though I was pregnant, the producer did not take the matter lightly. He made me wear tight clothes during the shoot, ignoring my body changes and discomfort. Even when I was suffering from pain, he did not let me see a doctor. I suffered a lot during that time,” Radhika said.
The food I consumed during pregnancy caused changes in my body. The producer could not accept the changes in my body either. At the same time, Radhika shared an experience she had while working on a Hollywood project. “The Hollywood director was very supportive. When I told him that I was eating too much, he said with a smile, ‘It doesn’t matter if you look like a different person by the end of this project, you are pregnant.’ That humanity and that empathy made me very happy,” Radhika said.
Radhika was last seen in the film ‘Sister Midnight’. The film was released in India on May 30, 2025. She will now be seen in the English film ‘Last Days’. This biopic is based on the life of Christian missionary John Allen Chow and is being directed by Justin Lin. The film stars Sky Yang, Naveen Andrews, Ken Leung, Toby Wallace, Ciara Bravo, Claire Price and others.
