Criminal Case on Ram Gopal Varma: A case has been registered against director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) at Rayadurgam Police Station. His first web series as a producer, Dahanam, was released on April 14, 2022, and was directed by Agastya Manju. The series depicts the conflict between feudal lords and Naxalites, portraying the murder of communist leader Ramulu and the story of his son seeking revenge.
Who filed a Criminal Case against Ram Gopal Varma?
Retired IPS officer Anjana Sinha filed a complaint with the Rayadurgam Police Station two days ago. She alleged that RGV claimed the web series was based on real incidents narrated by a retired IPS officer. She denied making any such statements. In her complaint, she stated that she never shared any incidents and accused RGV of misusing her identity. She expressed anger that he used her name without permission, warned that it would harm her credibility, and claimed he intended to tarnish her reputation.
RGV Earlier Films:
RGV emerged as one of the most daring and engaging voices in Indian cinema. He started his career with the groundbreaking Siva and left a lasting impression with films like Rangeela and Satya. At the height of his career, he produced genre-defining movies such as Kaun, Company, and Sarkar, which established him as a formidable force.
By the late 2000s, Varma’s technique had lost its sharpness. His stories no longer carried the bite that made them famous, and his distinctive style turned clichéd. Despite his consistent output, only a few of his films managed to leave a lasting impression.
