Case Against Soubin Shahir: A special team has been formed to investigate the Manjummel Boys financial fraud case in which actor Soubin Shahir is accused. Ernakulam DCP Vinod Pillai will be in charge. Ernakulam Crime Branch DySP Latheef will investigate. South ACP Rajkumar, who is currently investigating the case, is also part of the investigation team. The complainant had approached the DGP demanding the formation of a special investigation team.

The High Court had rejected Soubin’s plea seeking relaxation in bail conditions. Soubin approached the High Court questioning the trial court’s action. The High Court had also rejected his request to surrender his passport and allow him to travel abroad. Soubin Shahir was earlier arrested by Maradu police in a case of financial fraud by promising profit in connection with the production of the Manjummel Boys movie. The High Court had granted the actor anticipatory bail in the case.

Meanwhile, the Maradu SI, who was accused of helping the accused in the fraud case related to the Manjummel Boys movie, was transferred. SI KK Sajeesh was transferred to Ernakulam West Traffic Station. The action was taken for removing important documents of bank transactions from the file in the case involving Soubin Shahir. The irregularities were discovered when the file was called in to assess the progress of the case and the DCP inspected it.
