The actress Ramya Mohan alleged through a social media platform that Vijay Sethupathi once made indecent advances at her in exchange for cinemawork in her early career. Although she has not failed to lodge any legal inquiry in this regard, that public statement was sufficient to spark online chatter. Sethupathi, generally known for his clean image, has not replied to the allegations up till now, and no formal investigation has been launched.

The director of Queen was accused by a former employee of Phantom Films of sexual harassment. The consequences of the matter triggered the demise of the production company.
