Rukmini Vasanth: Recently released Kantara Chapter ‘1’ has Rukmini playing the female lead, she played the role of princess in the film. Her filmography is expanding with each passing year, and netizens, audiences are hailing her as the next big star in Indian cinema.

Childhood

Rukmini was born in Bengaluru to an Army officer, Colonel Vasanth Venugopal and Subhasini Vasanth. She is from a Kannada family, her father was martyred in 2007 at Uri, Jammu Kashmir. She studied in Army school in Bengaluru. After graduation she obtained an acting degree from Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Entry into films

In 2019, she made her acting debut with a Kannada film, “Birbal Trilogy Part-1”. She then got the part of Priya in “Saptha Sagaradaache Ello” opposite Rakshit Shetty, this film really put her on the map, the film became a huge hit and her performance is lauded by many. 

In the year 2023, she acted in another Kannada venture titled “Baanadariyalli” opposite Ganesh. She then acted alongside all the leading Kannada heroes. She did ‘Bhageera’ with Srimurali, ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ with Shiva Rajkumar. 

In 2024 she made her Telugu debut with Nikhil’s ‘Appudo Ippudo Eppudo’. She also ventured into Tamil cinema with Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Ace’, then acted alongside Siva Karthikeyan in recently released ‘Madharaasi’. 

Future Projects

Her biggest hit at the box office is now in the brewing stage with Kantara Chapter ‘1’. Apart from that she is acting alongside her crush and dream co-star Yash in Toxic. Another big project in her pipeline is Prashanth neel’s film with Jr.NTR, It is tentatively titled as ‘Dragon’. 

With these promising projects Rukmini is sure to entertain audiences across the country and she is the star to watch out for in the future.
