Yogi Adityanath Biopic: The film Ajay: The Untold Story of a Yogi, based on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is directed by Ravindra Gautam. However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has blocked its release. As a result, the film unit approached the Bombay High Court, challenging the censor board’s rejection of their certification application.
Anant Joshi portrayed Yogi Adityanath in Ajay: The Untold Story of a Yogi, while Paresh Rawal played his guru, Mahant. Following the CBFC’s decision to block the film, the producers moved to the Mumbai court and presented their case. They informed the court that the film was based on a novel that had been in the public domain for the past eight years. In response, the court questioned the censor board in the same context.

A bench of Justices Revathi Mohite Dere and Neela Gokhale asked the CBFC why it objected to the film when there were no issues with the book. The court questioned why the film faced objections despite the book being publicly available and issued a notice to the CBFC seeking a response.
