Holi to generate 60,000 crore business in India

According to CAIT, Holi 2025 sales would surpass ₹60,000 crore. According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), commercial turnover for Holi 2025 is expected to surpass ₹60,000 crore, which represents a 20% increase over the ₹50,000 crore generated the previous year. Over ₹8,000 crore is anticipated to come from Delhi in this festive commerce boom.


BJP MP from Chandni Chowk and CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal emphasized that during this year’s Holi sales, traders and consumers had once again shunned Chinese products. “The markets are dominated by Indian-made products only, such as gulal, water guns (pichkaris), balloons, sandalwood, pooja materials, clothing, and other festive items,” he said.

Key Points for a Profitable in Holi 2025


1. Rise in Consumer Spending:
Year by year holi celebrations have increased in India. In this year, 2025 the sales are expected to cross more than 65,000 crores. According to the sources, delhi alone is going to project around 8,000 crores, there is a strong demand for colours, sweets, clothing, and FMCG products. It is expected that there will be a high number of footfall in wholesale and retail stores.

2. Events and Outdoor Celebrations:
After pandemic there is a rise in event organized for every festival in India. A large-scale of Holi celebrations are going to take place in all the metropolitan cities. According to the sources, most of the function halls, farmhouses, hotels, restaurants are booked for Holi events. Many Bussiness owners, startup companies and organisations are planning for Holi Milan gatherings. This rise in numbers are expecting to rise the profits in India.

3. Demand in Sweets:
This is a festival of colours and sweets, many people gift others with delicious sweets. There is a huge demand for sweet shops, especially for Gujiyas. It is expected that more than 15% of profits are going to come from gift hampers and fruit garlands. In the market the demand is already risen and the prices are touching peaks right now.

Apart from these after people stopped using Chinese products in India, the rise of startups and Indian products are in the peaks. Many MSME sectors have focused on manufacturing herbal colours, water guns, balloons, sandalwood, pooja materials. Moreover the demand for white shirts and kurja pajamas are very high, there is a lot of demand for the garment sellers right now in this festive season.
