In a recent interview, Dr. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka Chopra’s mother, described how Hrithik Roshan and his father, Rakesh Roshan, helped the actress transport her father to Boston for medical treatment.
One of the numerous ways that Priyanka Chopra shows her affection for her father is by proudly wearing her tattoo of “Daddy’s little girl.” Her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, recently recalled the difficulties they encountered when they attempted to transport her father, Ashok Chopra, who was unwell, to the United States for medical treatment. But in their hour of need, Priyanka Chopra’s co-star Hrithik Roshan and his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, came to their aid.
Dr. Madhu Chopra had a lengthy discussion on the Something Bigger Show YouTube channel. She recalled how her family had to travel and deal with emotional difficulties when they had to take her husband and Priyanka’s sick father, Ashok Chopra, for treatment in Boston, US, among many other topics covered on the show.
For those who don’t know, Ashok Chopra was given a cancer diagnosis, and even though his odds of recovery were slim, they had to travel to Boston to receive cutting-edge therapy. However, after providing the airlines with the required medical information on his illness, they encountered logistical difficulties when they attempted to go.
While all of this was going on, Priyanka was filming her well-known film, Krrish, which was directed by Rakesh Roshan and starred Hrithik Roshan as the main character. They noticed that Chopra was under stress during the session and asked why. They assisted her after learning about the difficulties her father was having traveling for treatment.
Dr. Madhu Chopra said, “She shared her worries with them. Hrithik asked her, ‘Why are you crying?’ Then, both father and son made it possible for the airlines to take us. They helped us, put in a word—they knew people.”
In addition to the father-son team’s invaluable assistance, Dr. Madhu revealed that her husband, Dr. Ashok, was reluctant to inform others of his sickness. She had additional emotional challenges because she was unsure of whether to confront her worries or cope with empathy because he wanted it to remain private among their family.
But they were able to continue treating Priyanka’s father thanks to the assistance of Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan. However, he passed away from cancer in 2013, leaving his family grieving deeply.
