Hyderabad: The ‘MyGHMC’ mobile app has been launched for the people of Greater Hyderabad. Citizens can file complaints with photos on sanitation, engineering, health, street lighting, drainage and road issues through their smartphones. Services like trade license, property tax, pet license, waste removal, mosquitoes, potholes, stray dogs and food adulteration are also available, the commissioner said.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan said that a special mobile application called ‘MyGHMC’ has been made available to the people under the jurisdiction of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He advised the citizens of the city to download this app on their smartphones and avail GHMC services from the palm of their hands . He said that complaints can be made on many issues like sanitation management, engineering related works, public health issues, street lighting maintenance, sewage system issues, and cleanliness of roads through this app.
In particular, the Commissioner suggested that if a complaint is to be made about any problem, a photo should be taken directly from the area where the problem is and uploaded to the app. These complaints will reach the GHMC control room directly. There, they will be examined and the concerned officers will be immediately sent to the area where the complaint was registered. In addition, the person making the complaint will receive an SMS message with their complaint number and the phone number of the concerned officer. Citizens can also find out whether their complaint has been resolved or not through the app itself. If the complaint is not resolved or the officials are wrongly showing that it has been resolved, the city citizens can complain to the GHMC control room’s special helpline number 040 – 2111 1111.
Meanwhile, the MyGHMC app is not limited to complaints only. Through it, one can apply for a trade license, get property tax assessed, get a license for pet dogs, and even book a vehicle to transport construction waste, the collector said. There is also an opportunity to complain on other important issues like mosquito control, installation of new street lights, repair of potholes on roads, the problem of stray dogs, and food adulteration through this app. For the convenience of citizens, the facility of paying trade license fees, property tax, and other types of fees online through debit card or UPI has also been incorporated in this app.
Many other important services like details of GHMC offices, information about ward offices, locations of nearby public toilets, current weather information can also be accessed through this app. Commissioner R.V. Karnan said that this app has been made more user-friendly keeping in mind the convenience of the people of Greater Hyderabad. He advised the people to use this app extensively and resolve their problems quickly.
