India’s Highest-Paid IT CEO?: IT Salary Race Heats Up

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar’s yearly compensation increased to almost ₹70 crore ($8.2 million) in FY24, up 14% from the previous year, according to the company filing. It did point out, nevertheless, that the actual compensation was less than the 2024 objective of ₹137 crore ($16.1 million).

The Cognizant CEO’s compensation saw a significant year-on-year increase in FY24. His base salary rose by 20% to ₹10.25 crore ($1.2 million), while the Annual Cash Incentive (ACI) target also went up by 20% to ₹20.49 crore ($2.4 million). In addition, he was awarded Performance Share Units (PSUs) worth ₹64 crore ($7.5 million) and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) worth ₹42.68 crore ($5 million), both reflecting a 9% increase compared to the previous fiscal year.

Differences in the Pay Ratio:

According to the media sources, the CEO-to-median employee pay ratio for Cognizant in 2024 was 378:1. As per the document, Kumar earned 378 times as much as the typical worker in his organization.
