Ravi Kishan Recalls His Struggle Days

In a recent interview, Ravi Kishan candidly revealed his struggles in the early days of his career. The actor was recently seen in the Oscar-nominated film Lapataa Ladies. He said, “I used to live in a mud hut. We had responsibilities, and our farmland was mortgaged,” he recalled. “I’ve witnessed severe poverty, where 12 people shared one plate of khichdi, and that too after adding water to it.” He further revealed that he survived on Vada pav and tea during struggling days.

The actor went on to reveal that he never got a dignified salary for the work he has done in the films during his 15-year career. He said, “I’ve faced extreme humiliation, While most people experience it a few times, I’ve faced it thousands of times. All of this has shaped the person I am today.” despite the struggles he now became a prominent actor with more than 740 films in his career across various industries.


Roots Of Extreme Poverty

The actor went on to reveal, that even today after becoming successful he is unable to let go of his struggle. Ravi said, “When I visit a 7-star hotel, I still can’t bring myself to order expensive food, no matter who’s paying. I still opt for Khichdi. I’m reluctant to send my clothes for laundry and prefer washing them at home when I return. That sense of poverty still lingers in me. The middle-class Ravi Kishan has not left me.” He further revealed that “I’m happy to pay for their wants, but when it comes to me, I can’t spend. It’s usually my family who buys me clothes, phones, or other luxury items.”
