Stock Market Update: On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the Nifty 50 index closed at 24,609.70, down 0.82%, while Bank Nifty slipped by 0.24% to 54,941.30. Despite weak global cues and pressure on key sectors like IT, FMCG, and auto, Nifty found support at its 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), showing signs of recovery.
According to Devarsh Vakil from HDFC Securities, Nifty’s immediate support lies between 24,400–24,500, with resistance levels at 24,840 and 24,946. Bank Nifty’s support is expected around 54,000–53,500 as per Bajaj Broking.
Experts like Vikram Kasat from PL Capital advise traders to remain cautious due to global uncertainties, domestic data, and high valuations.
