Sudha Murthy Reacts To 70 Hour Work Statement By Infosys

His wife, writer and social activist Sudha Murthy, gave up many important moments of her life to make her husband’s dream come true. Sudha Murthy broke her silence and shared her feelings amid the recent debate on 70 Hours Workweek. Writer and social activist Sudha Murthy has reacted to her husband and Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy’s 70-hour workweek statement. In a recent interview, he said that when one is passionate about his work, he does not feel short of time. She recalled that in the early days of Infosys, her husband Narayan Murthy used to work more than 70 hours a week. It was the result of his hard work at the right time and at the right place that Infosys has become a successful company today. He said “There was no magic wand to make Infosys successful, it was just a result of hard work and dedication.”

Struggle behind Infosys success:

Sudha Murthy also opened up about her personal life and revealed that she made many sacrifices in family life due to her husband’s long working hours. She admitted that her husband’s work was very time consuming but she never complained about it. He said, “I decided that there was no point in complaining because he was busy doing something big.” According to him when a person is devoted to his work then his family should also understand and support him.

Hard work is necessary for success
Sudha Murthy said that not only her husband but many people like doctors, journalists and scientists also work hard to get success in their careers. He said that everyone should set their priorities and use the right time. When her husband was busy with his work, she started writing to keep herself busy. Not only did he make his mark but also made good use of his time.

Time management and dedication is the key to success
Talking about time management, Sudha Murthy said that everyone has only 24 hours in a day, the only difference is how we use these hours. He said “If you are passionate about a job then you have to make time for it and when a person works hard for his career then his life partner should also support him.” His thinking has forced people to think that success can only be achieved through hard work and proper time management.
