NHAI stands for National Highway Authority of India. This is very familiar to everyone. With the dense population and numerous tourists spots like India, it is very important to maintain the highways. In India, travellers keep travelling in almost all the highways, they can’t necessarily be Indians. But with the rich culture, India attracts tourists from all over the world almost every time of the year. Considering this, Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari announced NHAI vision for the financial year 2028-2029
The government is planning to develop over 700 wayside amenities (WSAs) along national highways by Financial year 2028-2029. These amenities are built to enhance travel convenience and safety of the travellers in India and from every part of the world. .
WSAs are a list of amenities that includes fuel stations, EV charging points, toilets, drinking water, parking, and eateries to ensure the safety and comfort of the travellers.

Out of 501 awarded WSAs, 94 are already in the operational stage. And the remaining projects are still under the stages of development to meet the 2028-2029 deadline to get all the stations operational.
Nitin Gadkari’s Vision Enhancing Indian Economy:
This initiative not just beneficial for the travellers, but also aids in the development of Indian Economy. These massive projects provide employement in various regions thus develops the count of earning individuals in the country.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkali also announced that a digital feedback system will be abled everywhere in the WSAs built to ensure quality at WSAs.
