Telangana Earthquake: Residents of Qutbullapur hamlet, which is close to Vikarabad in Telangana, were shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 at 3:56 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025. At a depth of 10 kilometers, the epicentre of the earthquake that the National Centre for Seismology reported was located in farmlands west of the village of Qutbullapur. At the time this report was filed, no reports of property or human casualties had been made.
Many locals reported feeling the tremors and hurried away, although the majority of people in the nearby villages were not affected. Media sources state that people in the villages of Rangapur, Barlapalli, and Nayamath Nagar reported feeling the earthquakes.

The Deccan rarely experiences earthquakes, with the majority occurring in the Stable Continental Region (SCR), as defined by seismologists. Some residents hurried out of their houses in response to the sudden movement, but they returned because there were no aftershocks.
