Ahmedabad Plane Crash : Air India Asked for Financial Info of The Victims?

Ahmedabad Plane Crash: The families of the victims of the previous Air India plane crash have made serious allegations against the airline. They say that Air India is pressuring them to disclose their financial details before paying compensation. This is a great humiliation for them.

Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Air India Asked for Financial Info of The Victims? What’s the truth?

However, Air India has strongly denied these allegations. It has said that it is conducting this process transparently and humanely. It is well known that 274 people lost their lives in the AI-171 plane crash in Ahmedabad. However, the plane crashed shortly after landing and caused a terrible accident. Especially when the plane hit a residential area. Local people, including those on board, also died.

Dozens of people were seriously injured. However, the UK-based ‘Stewarts Law’ firm, which provides legal assistance to the families of the victims, has recently found Air India’s behavior seriously wrong. This firm, which is representing the families of more than 40 victims, has accused Air India of “coercion, threats and pressure”.

Stewarts Law has revealed that families have complained that they are being pressured to sign certain documents by threatening to reduce or stop compensation payments altogether. Victims’ lawyers say it is inhumane to harass families who are already grieving the loss of loved ones .

Air India responds

On the other hand, Air India strongly denied these allegations. The airline issued a statement and clarified that it is handling the compensation process with utmost sensitivity and humanity. It stated that it is committed to all legal and ethical standards. It revealed that it is providing full support to the affected families. Air India representatives said that asking for financial details is a normal part of the process and is not being forced.

The company also stated that interim compensation has already been paid to many people. She said that compensation for air crash victims has always been a sensitive issue. When they are grieving the loss of their loved ones, asking for financial details and a dispute over it is a matter of further mental anguish for the victim’s family. With Air India denying these allegations, the compensation process has become even more controversial.
