AP government DWCRA women:
The Andhra Pradesh government is taking major steps to support women’s financial independence, especially those associated with DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups. The latest initiative offers loans with attractive discounts to help women set up various livelihood units and become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
Under this scheme, the government, in partnership with the Central Government, is providing financial assistance to women who wish to start small businesses. The process of identifying eligible beneficiaries is currently underway through gram sabhas (village meetings) organized by the Velugu and Animal Husbandry Departments. These departments are working together to link women with banks and implement schemes such as PMEGP, PMFME, and Sreenidhi.
Women interested in setting up units like dairy farming (cows, buffaloes, goats, poultry), bakeries, paper plate making, or agricultural equipment services can apply for these loans. The program not only supports the setup of such units but also provides assistance in marketing the products made by these women.
One of the most attractive aspects of this scheme is the loan subsidy. For instance, if a woman takes a loan of ₹1 lakh, she can avail a subsidy of ₹35,000, meaning she only needs to repay ₹65,000. Similarly, for a loan of ₹2 lakh, the subsidy increases to ₹75,000, making it easier for women to manage repayments and profits.
The government aims to empower women financially while boosting rural entrepreneurship. Officials believe that if women make full use of this golden opportunity, it will not only uplift their families but also contribute significantly to the state’s overall economic growth.
With the government’s active support, Andhra Pradesh women now have the chance to achieve self-employment and economic stability. Those who wish to benefit from this initiative are encouraged to apply soon and take the first step toward financial independence.
