Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla: Shubhanshu Shukla, the astronaut from Lucknow, has returned from the United States. His father, Shambhu Dayal Shukla, was also present when Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta greeted him at Delhi Airport on Sunday morning.
Before traveling to Bengaluru to participate in ISRO’s International Space Day celebrations on August 23, Shubhanshu might have a meeting with Prime Minister Modi today. On August 25, he might go back to Lucknow. Even though he is a worldwide celebrity, his mother told Bhaskar that he would always be her little kid, and she is excitedly awaiting his arrival.
On August 16, Shubhanshu departed from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Texas for India. He had posted on Instagram with the information. He penned, “Just keep moving forward. Life is a train, time is the wheel. I am eager to reach my country.”
Shubhanshu Shukla was one of four astronauts who left for the International Space Station on June 25 as part of Axiom Mission-4. On June 26, they arrived at the ISS at 4:01 PM Indian time. On July 15, they returned to Earth after an 18-day stay. The landing happened off the California coast.
Shubhanshu to come to Home after 16 months:
In August 2024, Shubhanshu departed for America, according to mother Asha Shukla. He had left Lucknow for Bengaluru four months prior, in April, and the family had not had a chance to meet him at that time. Now, when he comes back to Lucknow, they will be reunited after almost 16 months. He trained at ISRO for several months before his trip to America. On July 15, following the 18-day space mission, he returned to the United States.
