Bank Holidays: According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) schedule, banks throughout India will observe several holidays in September 2025 due to regional festivals, state observances, and normal weekend closures.
Bank Holidays in September:
There will be nine festival-related holidays in September in addition to ordinary weekends, although the dates will differ by state. Important observances consist of:
September 3 (Wednesday): Karma Puja
September 4 (Thursday): Onam Festival
September 5 (Friday): Eid-e-Milad
September 6 (Saturday): Indrajatra

State-Wise Bank Holidays:
Jammu & Kashmir: On September 22–23, Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday, banks are closed.
September 29–30 is a bank holiday in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, and Tripura (Maha Saptami and Ashtami).
September 5 is an Eid-e-Milad bank holiday in several states, including Kerala, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
Digital banking channels, including UPI, online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs, will remain operational during these periods even though physical branches will be closed.
