Telangana Bandh: Backward Class (BC) communities in Telangana have been urged by BC JAC State Secretary Jajula Lingam Goud to actively participate in the state-wide bandh on October 18 in support of the demand for BCs’ constitutional rights.
Lingam Goud stated that many student and people’s organizations had shown their interest and respect for the bandh request during a meeting that was held close to the Arts College on the Osmania University campus. To assure its success, he called on all residents, businesses, and educational institutions to work together.
Why is Telangana Bandh on October 18th?
According to Lingam Goud, the purpose of the bandh is to draw attention to the injustice that BCs endure, not to forward the political agenda of any party. “We intended this bandh to demonstrate our unity and consciousness,” he stated. Until we secure justice for BCs, we will continue to fight. He claimed the courts were being used by upper-caste organizations to block BC reservations. He questioned the justice of such moves, saying, “They are blocking our constitutional rights at every step.”

Lingam Goud called for BCs from the village to the state level to organize through JACs to make the protest historic, and he requested all political parties to voluntarily support the bandh. He declared, “It’s time for BCs to stand up to those who are trying to undermine our reservations and denigrate our dignity.”
