Bengaluru Couple Spends ₹5.9 Lakh in One Month — Internet Shocked

Bengaluru Couple Breaks Down ₹5.9 Lakh Monthly Budget

A Bengaluru couple has taken the internet by storm after sharing their detailed August expenses, totalling a staggering ₹5.9 lakh. Prakriti and Ashish Arora, known online as the “Travel Couple,” posted the breakdown in a now-viral Instagram reel that’s clocked nearly two million views. Their spending has left social media users stunned and curious.

Travel and Fitness Lead the List

A massive chunk of their budget over ₹3.5 lakh went towards travel. The couple took two domestic and two international trips last month, covering both flights and hotel stays. Rent for their flat stood at ₹42,000. Fitness was another major expense. “We both have personal trainers, and I attended Pilates classes this month, which cost us ₹40,000,” Prakriti shared in the video. Their grocery bill came to ₹20,000, mainly to support their health routine.

Everyday Costs, Investments, and More Of The Couple

The couple spent ₹10,000 on electricity, OTT subscriptions, and home cleaning. Eating out and ordering food cost them another ₹13,000. They also invested ₹1 lakh into SIPs and put aside around ₹15,000 for cabs, grooming, insurance, and gifts.

From Rocky Start to Financial Sync

In their caption, the Aroras admitted that money used to be a point of tension in their relationship. They now credit open conversations and regular “money meetings” for helping them stay aligned on spending, saving, and building what they call a “mystery fund.” “We’re not just living together we are building a life,” they said.

Reactions poured in. One user joked, “Their one-month spend = our one-year income.” Another asked, “What do you guys do for a living?” Some were more analytical: “Fitness trainers cost that much? Also, shouldn’t travel expenses be averaged over the year?”

Whether impressed or puzzled, viewers agree: Bengaluru just keeps raising the bar on cost of living.
