Bharat Bandh Tomorrow: Check School, College Closure List

Bharat Bandh Tomorrow: A combined platform of ten central trade unions has called for a statewide strike on July 9 that will involve up to 25 crore workers from the formal and informal sectors. Farmers and agricultural laborers from rural India will also participate in the “Bharat Bandh.” The strike is an attempt to protest the government’s policies, which the unions say are anti-worker and pro-corporate.

Major union leaders will take part in this walkout, including representatives from the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), and the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS). More than 25 crore workers would participate, including those in manufacturing, banking, insurance, construction, mining, transportation, and agriculture, according to Amarjeet Kaur of AITUC. 27 lakh power workers will also join the protests against the privatization of two electricity distribution corporations in Uttar Pradesh. Many industries, including banking, transportation, power, etc., are anticipated to be impacted by the strike. As a result, the openings and closings of schools worry parents and other stakeholders.

Schools & Colleges Remain Open?
According to reports, on July 9, schools and institutions in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad would stay open. However, no information on closures has been released by the school administration. In certain places, transportation problems may cause disruptions to school operations. In many locations, trade unions and other organizations are holding road rallies and protest marches that could have an impact on public transportation, taxis, and app-based taxi services. Local travel and logistical operations may be postponed or canceled as a result. It is recommended that daily commuters prepare for potential traffic detours and lengthier travel times. For the most recent information, parents and students are encouraged to stay in contact with their school’s administration.
