CC or EC in Vande Bharat:
Vande Bharat Express has changed how people travel by train in India. Known for its high speed, stylish design, and airline-like comfort, this semi-high-speed train is one of Indian Railways’ biggest successes. However, many passengers are confused when booking tickets should they choose Chair Car (CC) or Executive Chair Car (EC)?
The difference mainly lies in comfort, space, and price. The Chair Car (CC) is perfect for short journeys and budget-friendly travel. It has a 3×2 seat layout, meaning three seats on one side and two on the other. The seats are comfortable, air-conditioned, and equipped with charging ports and infotainment screens. However, CC coaches are usually more crowded and less spacious.
The Executive Chair Car (EC), on the other hand, offers a 2×2 layout with wide, reclining, and rotatable seats. The legroom is more generous, making it ideal for long-distance or business travelers. EC tickets are about 50–60% more expensive than CC, but passengers get premium facilities, quiet cabins, and access to station lounges on select routes.
Both classes offer air-conditioning, modern interiors, and onboard food services, but the menu differs. CC passengers are served tea, coffee, and standard vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals. EC passengers enjoy a more luxurious dining experience — welcome drinks, snacks, fruits, and multi-course meals, similar to airline business class.
If you’re looking for value and are traveling a short distance, Chair Car is a smart choice. But if you prefer extra comfort and a relaxed journey, Executive Chair Car is worth the upgrade.
Vande Bharat Express represents India’s growing progress in modern rail travel — fast, efficient, and passenger-friendly. Whether you choose CC or EC, the experience promises to be smoother and more comfortable than traditional trains.
