This cutting-edge technology is gaining attention after a viral video by financial expert Sarthak Ahuja, where he claims that ChatGPT can forecast employee resignations up to 18 months in advance. Companies are using this technology to make better decisions regarding promotions, appraisals, and retention strategies.
According to Ahuja, many businesses transcribe virtual meetings and Zoom calls and upload these transcripts into ChatGPT. The AI then analyzes the language patterns, tone, and behavior of employees. This helps it identify subtle signs of disengagement, such as a shift in language from “we should” to “you should,” indicating that an employee is distancing themselves from the team.
Other signs that ChatGPT looks for include video fatigue where employees frequently turn off their cameras during meetings and any changes in tone or body language that may suggest a lack of motivation. These patterns help create a Retention Risk Matrix, which ranks employees based on how likely they are to leave the company.

Once the data is analyzed, companies can generate a Retention Risk Matrix. This matrix ranks employees based on their likelihood of leaving the company. Managers use these insights to take action by addressing disengagement and offering interventions like more frequent check-ins or tailored development opportunities.
Concerns About Privacy and Accuracy
While the technology has proven helpful in some cases, it raises concerns about privacy. Critics argue that using AI to analyze meeting transcripts may lead to unfair profiling, especially if the data is biased or misinterpreted. There’s also concern that it could lead to micromanagement or unfair treatment of employees based on automated predictions.
Despite these concerns, experts like Ahuja believe that, when used responsibly, this technology can offer valuable insights that help companies retain their most valuable employees before it’s too late.
