Andhra Landfall Updates: On Tuesday morning, Cyclone Montha became a strong cyclonic storm, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). By Tuesday evening or overnight, the cyclone is predicted to reach land along the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, close to Kakinada. The cyclone is expected to cause exceptionally heavy rains and severe gusts in Andhra Pradesh, according to the weather service. Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu districts are under an orange notice, while the rest northeastern districts are under a yellow alert.
According to the sources, authorities have given shelter to 30 Andhra fishing boats in Odisha at Gopalpur Port for safety. It is also reported that Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu has advised officials to evacuate all the residing people near the coastal area to safer places. As per the orders, district collectors have been ordered to ensure the supply of clean water and food. Moreover, they have to also look into irrigation channels and water channels to make the place even safer. As per the orders, special officers have been appointed to handle all the cyclone emergency response.

NDRF Evacuation Team in Kakinada:
In order to support evacuation operations and guarantee public safety, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been stationed in 25 hamlets in Uppada, Kakinada district, ahead of Cyclone Montha’s landfall along the Andhra coast.
Low-lying coastal regions are being evacuated in preparation for Cyclone Montha’s arrival. Officials in Kothapatnam village issued notifications asking people to leave their houses and relocate to safer areas.
