Delhi Weather: Latest Updates on 150+ Delayed Flights

Delhi Weather: Heavy rain on Saturday provided some respite from the humidity, but it also left portions of Delhi and the neighboring areas flooded. For the nation’s capital, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert. The nighttime downpour disrupted traffic and aircraft operations, bringing most of the city to a complete halt. Numerous locations, including Panchkuian Marg, Mathura Road, and Connaught Place, were reported to be waterlogged.


Delhi Airport Statement:
The Delhi Airport said that although “several flights reported delays,” everything was operating as usual. According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast, bad weather is now plaguing Delhi. At Delhi Airport, all flight operations are now proceeding normally, nevertheless. It was written on X (previously Twitter): “Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free.”

150+ Delayed Flights:
At 9:15 AM, FlightRadar24 data showed that three aircraft were canceled and 141 outgoing planes from Indira Gandhi International Airport were delayed on Saturday morning. Twenty-four of the arriving flights experienced delays, and one was canceled.

Indigo & SpiceJet Announcement:

IndiGo issued an advisory on X, warning travelers about traffic congestion throughout the city. Heavy rain slowed or stopped many roads in Delhi. The airline urged passengers to check their flight status on its website or app before heading to the airport, allow extra travel time, and, if possible, take an alternative route. IndiGo advised passengers to arrive at the airport well in advance, stating, “Our teams are working to keep things on track and support your journey.”

SpiceJet also alerted travelers about potential delays. The airline said heavy rain and poor weather conditions could affect all flights departing from or arriving in Delhi (DEL). SpiceJet advised passengers to check their flight status at http://spicejet.com. The IMD predicted thunderstorms and rain for Saturday, with a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 25°C.
