FASTag Annual Pass: Price, Validity, and Trip Details Inside

FASTag Annual Pass: India’s electronic toll payment system, FASTag, will undergo a major overhaul on August 15, Independence Day. To make highway travel more convenient and affordable for frequent drivers, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will launch the FASTag Annual Pass on the same day. Under the new pass, owners of private vehicles, jeeps, and vans will pay ₹3,000 once for a year of travel or up to 200 toll crossings. The initiative aims to reduce recurrent recharges, speed up toll transactions, and ease congestion at plazas.

What is FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass offers a prepaid toll plan exclusively for non-commercial individual vehicles, including automobiles, jeeps, and vans. Authorities first announced it in June 2025. The new pass combines toll payments into a single, cost-effective transaction to address “long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas located within a 60 km range,” said Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari. By reducing wait times, easing traffic, and minimizing conflicts at toll plazas, the Annual Pass aims to give millions of private vehicle owners a quicker and smoother travel experience.

If your current FASTag is active and linked to your car registration number, the pass connects directly to it. The plan covers only national highways and expressways run by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and NHAI. It benefits daily commuters by removing the need for frequent recharges. You can use the pass only with the FASTag for one registered car, and it is non-transferable.

How to buy a FASTag Annual Pass online?

  1. You need to go to the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI-MoRTH website to buy an annual pass online.
  2. Just enter all the details about your vehicle and FASTag ID. Make sure your FASTag is active and linked to your vehicle.
  3. Following this you’ll be directed to the payment page. Pay Rs. 3000 and get your annual pass.
  4. This annual pass is going to get attached directly to your existing FASTag.

Where does this Annual pass work in India?

The FASTag Annual Pass covers only toll plazas on NHAI-run National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE), such as the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, Mumbai–Nashik, Mumbai–Surat, and Mumbai–Ratnagiri routes.

Your FASTag continues to work on state highways and municipal toll roads, including the Bengaluru–Mysore Expressway, Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway, Mumbai–Pune Expressway, Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway (Samruddhi Mahamarg), Atal Setu, and Agra–Lucknow Expressway. State officials, not NHAI, manage these roads.
