Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions in the city. The restrictions will be in place from August 29 to September 5. They aim to manage the movement of Ganesh idol immersion processions.

The diversions will mainly affect routes that lead towards NTR Marg. They will also affect roads towards People’s Plaza on PVNR Marg. Authorities expect large-scale immersions to take place in these areas.


Ganesh Visarjan 2025:

The traffic curbs will be in effect from 3 pm until late night during these days. Police will either close or regulate several important junctions, including Sailing Club Junction, VV Statue, Telugu Thalli Junction, DBR Mills, Kavadiguda X Road, Nallagutta Bridge, and Buddha Bhavan, depending on traffic flow and crowd movement.Roads connecting to Upper Tank Bund, Necklace Road, and NTR Marg are also likely to face restrictions.

To avoid congestion, police have suggested alternative routes for commuters. Those traveling towards Liberty, Khairatabad, Punjagutta, and Secunderabad are advised to use roads via Kavadiguda, Begumpet, Minister Road, and Telugu Thalli flyover.

The police have urged citizens to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel during the immersion days. Special arrangements are being made to ensure smooth processions while also allowing regular traffic to move with minimal disruption.

Ganesh immersion is one of the biggest annual events in Hyderabad, attracting thousands of devotees. With multiple idols being taken out in large processions, the city experiences heavy traffic around Tank Bund and nearby areas. The traffic police have appealed to the public to follow guidelines and use suggested alternative routes for a safer and hassle-free experience.
