Confirmed Train Ticket:
During the festive season, securing a train ticket can be a challenging task. Festivals like Dussehra, Diwali and Sankranti see a massive increase in travel as families head to their hometowns. This results in most train seats getting booked within minutes. However with proper planning and some helpful tips you can increase your chances of getting a confirmed ticket.
1. Plan Ahead
Booking a ticket well in advance is crucial. Ensure you are logged in to the IRCTC website or app before the booking window opens. For general quota tickets, booking starts at 10:00 AM, so logging in a few minutes early will help. A fast internet connection is also essential since even a slight delay can cost you the ticket.
2. Opt for Tatkal Tickets
If general quota tickets are unavailable, Tatkal tickets are a good option. Tatkal bookings for AC coaches open at 10:00 AM, and for non-AC coaches, it opens at 11:00 AM. The competition is fierce during this time, so it’s best to pre-fill the details such as passenger names, age, and ID information to save time during the booking process.
3. Consider Premium Tatkal Tickets
Premium Tatkal tickets are another choice. Although these tickets come at a higher cost, they have a higher chance of getting confirmed. If you are unable to find a direct ticket to your destination, consider booking a ticket to a nearby station and using other transport options.
4. Check Waiting List Status
Even if your ticket is on the waiting list, there’s no need to panic. The IRCTC website constantly updates the waiting list status. If your waiting number is low, the chances of confirmation are higher. Also, select routes that are less crowded like Vijayawada or Kota for better chances of getting a seat.
5. Use Auto Fill Tools for Faster Booking
Auto fill tools can speed up the booking process by saving your details in advance. For payment using UPI or digital wallets is faster and more secure.
6. Special Quotas
Don’t forget to check special quotas like the ladies’ quota, senior citizen quota, or divyang quota. If you are eligible then these categories can provide an added advantage for booking tickets.
