Hyderabad Rains on 21 July 2025: Residents of Hyderabad are advised to prepare for severe weather conditions this afternoon. As heavy rainfall and very strong thunderstorms are going to occur in many places across the city between 4:40 PM and 7:40 PM on July 21, 2024. The thunderstorms are accompanied by lightning strikes, gusty winds, and torrential downpours, making it one of the difficult three-hour weather events over the city.
Heavy Rain: There would be forecast concerning high volume of rain with consequent flooding into low-lying and heavily used intersections. Cleared accumulation may contribute to accumulation of puddles and waterlogged roads.
Thunder and lightning will be frequent when the storms arrive since they cause danger for the outdoor activities and protection of the public.
Strong winds: Winds that reach areas of 30-40 km per hour may bring down tree branches and disrupt operations or outdoor construction work.
Before the storm, municipal authorities have put their emergency response units on alert and issued public advisories. Affected citizens can:
Avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary, especially children, elderly, ill, and people with other medical conditions.
Unplug fuse appliances, secure outdoor chairs or any other loose items against damage by gusty winds.
Stay westward of waterlogged streets that may hide potholes, fallen power lines, or health hazards associated with waterborne pathogens.

Road users are really advised to expect serious congestions due to reduced visibility and waterlogged roads. There will also be timely caution by buses, auto-rickshaws, and taxis, whose users are also encouraged to start early. Several schools today would be sending kids home early or issuing distance learning instructions so as to prioritize the student’s safety. Offices also advise their employees to work from home and suspend fieldwork and keep contact numbers handy.
